Ingmar Lazar – piano

Salué par le magazine Classica pour son « magnétisme et impressionnante maturité », ainsi que pour son jeu « restituant l’essence même de chaque œuvre », le pianiste Ingmar Lazar fait partie des musiciens français les plus distingués de sa génération.

Il est invité à se produire dans les salles les plus prestigieuses à travers le monde, telles que la Grande Salle du Conservatoire Tchaïkovski et la Maison Internationale de la Musique à Moscou, le Concertgebouw d’Amsterdam, l’Herkulessaal de Munich, la Fondation Internationale Mozarteum de Salzbourg, la Seine Musicale de Boulogne-Billancourt, l’Athénée roumain de Bucarest et l’Auditorium Charles Bronfman de Tel-Aviv pour ne citer que quelques-unes. Il figure également régulièrement à l’affiche de festivals des plus réputés: Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Festival International de piano de la Roque-d’Anthéron, Festival des Semaines Européennes de Passau, Festival International de Colmar, Festival Chopin à Paris, Festival Les Piano Folies du Touquet-Paris-Plage, Festival de l’Orangerie de Sceaux, Festival 1001 Notes en Limousin, Festival de Musique Estate Regina de Montecatini Terme, Klassik-Osterfestival Andermatt.

Parmi les chefs d’orchestre avec lesquels Ingmar Lazar collabore, on trouve entre autres Vladimir Spivakov, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Mathieu Herzog, Julien Chauvin, Anna Duczmal-Mróz, Constantin Adrian Grigore et Nicolas Krauze, et il se produit notamment avec l’Orchestre National Philharmonique de Russie, les Virtuoses de Moscou, l’Orchestre Lamoureux, l’Orchestre de Chambre de la Radio Roumaine, l’Ensemble Appassionato, le Concert de la Loge, l’Orchestre Symphonique Académique de la Philharmonie de Lviv.

Passionné de musique de chambre, il partage la scène avec des musiciens tels qu’Alexandre Brussilovsky, Nicolas Dautricourt, Benjamin Herzl, Stanislas Kim, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Fédor Rudin, François Salque, Christoph Seybold, Ekaterina Valiulina, Brieuc Vourch, le Quatuor Hermès et le Vision String Quartet.

Sa discographie encensée par la critique comporte un récital Schubert (Fantaisie « Wanderer » et Sonate D.959) paru chez Lyrinx en 2017, récompensé par un « coup de cœur – 5 étoiles  » de Classica, ainsi que par « Le Choix de France Musique ». Un récital Beethoven (Bagatelles op. 33, sonates op. 81a « Les Adieux » et op. 111) enregistré en live au Théâtre National de Marseille « La Criée » vient de paraître en février 2019 chez le même label, et fut unanimement salué par la presse, recevant de nouveau un « coup de cœur – 5 étoiles  » de Classica. Sa curiosité musicale l’amena également a aborder un répertoire hors des sentiers battus, et c’est ainsi qu’il enregistra plusieurs CDs pour le label Suoni e Colori comprenant des œuvres de Jean-Philippe Rameau, et en duo avec Alexandre Brussilovsky des œuvres de Jean Françaix, Mieczyslaw Weinberg et Efrem Podgaïts.

Né en France en 1993, Ingmar Lazar se produit pour la première fois à la Salle Gaveau à l’âge de six ans. Lauréat de nombreux concours internationaux, il remporte en 2013 le prix du piano de la Fondation Tabor au Verbier Festival, et est nommé lauréat en 2016 de la Fondation Safran pour la Musique.

Ancien élève de Valéry Sigalevitch à Paris, il a étudié à la Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien de Hanovre auprès de Vladimir Kraïnev et Bernd Goetzke. Il poursuivit ses études à l’Académie Internationale de Piano du Lac de Côme et au Conservatoire de la Suisse italienne (Lugano) dans le cadre de la fondation Theo Lieven, où il bénéficia des conseils de Dimitri Bachkirov, Malcolm Bilson, Fou Ts’ong et Stanislav Ioudénitch. Il a obtenu son « Master in performance » à l’Universität Mozarteum de Salzbourg dans la classe de Pavel Gililov. Boursier de l’Académie de Musique du Liechtenstein et prenant part régulièrement aux activités de cette Académie, il fait également partie de la promotion Vivaldi de l’Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky.

Ingmar Lazar est depuis 2016 fondateur et directeur artistique du « Festival du Bruit qui Pense » situé à Louveciennes dans les Yvelines, dont la vocation est de créer de forts liens entre les artistes et le public grâce à des interviews interactives et des discussions post-concerts.

He performs in the world’s most prestigious halls such as the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the International Performing Arts Centre in Moscow, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Herkulessaal in Munich, International Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Rudolfinum in Prague, La Seine Musicale in Paris, Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, and the Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv to name a few. Ingmar Lazar is also a dedicated chamber musician, and shares the stage with Pierre Amoyal, Nicolas Dautricourt, Benjamin Herzl, Stanislas Kim, Danielle Laval, Roman Patočka, Jean-Claude Pennetier, François Salque, Christoph Seybold, Ekaterina Valiulina, the Quatuor Hermès, and the Vision String Quartet.

His critically acclaimed discography includes a Schubert recital (Wanderer Fantasie and Sonata D.959) released in 2017 on the Lyrinx label, which received a five-star rating from the Classica Magazine and was awarded with « France Musique’s Choice ». A Beethoven recital (Bagatelles op. 33, Sonatas op. 81a « Les Adieux » and op. 111) recorded live at the National Theatre in Marseille « La Criée » was released in 2019 on the same label, receiving fabulous press critics and once more a five-star rating from the Classica Magazine. Born in France in 1993, Ingmar Lazar made his debut at the age of 6 at the Salle Gaveau in Paris. Prizewinner of several international competitions, he is the recipient of the Tabor Foundation Piano Award at the Verbier Festival in 2013. He was also named laureate of the Safran Foundation for Music France in 2016. In 2020 he became prizewinner of the Ateliers Médicis, with the support of the French Ministry of Culture. Ingmar Lazar is a Steinway Artist.

A former student of Valery Sigalevitch and Alexis Golovin, Ingmar Lazar continued his studies with Vladimir Krainev and Bernd Goetzke at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. Thereafter he attended the International Piano Academy Lake Como and the Conservatory of the Italian Switzerland (Lugano) as a Theo Lieven scholar, where he studied with Dmitri Bashkirov, Malcolm Bilson, Fou Ts’ong, and Stanislav Ioudenitch. He received his Master’s and Postgraduate degree from the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in the class of Pavel Gililov. Currently, he is mentored by Elisso Virsaladze at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. He is a scholarship holder of the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and was a member of the Philippe Jaroussky Music Academy.

Since 2016, Ingmar Lazar has been the founder and artistic director of the Festival du Bruit qui Pense, located in Louveciennes in the Yvelines, in north-central France. Its goal is to create strong ties between artists and the audience with interactive post-concert interviews and discussions.

He was named starting from 2021 artistic director of the piano festival Escapades Pianistiques taking place at the Château de Commarin, near Dijon.
